A treehouse or platform is a great way to connect yourself with your own outdoors, and get a new perspective on the natural environment that surrounds you.
We're proud to offer creative and custom designs based on our client's wants and desires, leaning heavily on how each unique group of trees speaks to us.
The trees themselves dictate much of what is possible, both physically and aesthetically, so each new project is a chance to create a new vision you can be proud of.
From simple platforms and shelters to functional living spaces, almost anything is possible if your trees allow it.
A tree is NOT a post! It is a living organism whose strength and shape helps dictate what is possible. Also, tree health and care is very integral to a long lasting project. A tree house will only last as long as its host tree.
Picking a proper site and professional analysis of the host trees is integral.
Size and scope is another important matter to consider, as local planning departments may or may not have a lot to say about what they will allow, and whether your project will require permitting and inspections. If so, then consultation and analysis by an engineer will be necessary as tree houses fall outside of what is considered normal building practice.
That being said, we are pleased to offer a number of unique and custom foundation and attachment designs to not only adequately support your project no matter the size, but also minimize wounding to the host trees while allowing continued growth and movement. An improperly conceived or implemented tree attachment is a great way to kill a tree or at least significantly decrease its life and vitality. A number of visionary tree builders have spent years working with engineers and consulting arborists to design strong attachments with minimal detrimental effects to the host trees.
With over ten years of experience of installing and inspecting these types of supports, we can design a system that is right for you, your project desire, and your trees.
We've also completed some of these projects for The Treehouse Guys television show on the DIY network, working alongside B'fer and KaV, Michael Garnier, Jason Lindsey, Jake Jacob, and others.
I've also helped with several builds for Pete Nelson's Treehouse Masters on Animal Planet.
